We invite you to join us this autumn half term for a special family event at Kith to celebrate this magical time of year; the festival of autumns end and the beginning of winter.
Come and join with other families as we share seasonal treats, connect with each other around the fire, and explore the mystery and surprises this season brings. Think apple bobbing, toasting marshmallows and pumpkins, intermingled with opportunities to reflect on the seasons passed, turning inwards and setting intentions for the coming season of winter.
As the seasons turn, we wake to misty mornings with twinkly dew jewels suspended on spider webs and jack frost crystalised patterns on our windows, crunchy leaves crackle under our feet and we embrace cosy nights and candlelight. The days get colder and darker; we put on our hats and scarves, wrap up warm, and prepare for winter. This samhain we welcome you to Kith for a special time together for our families.
The cost is £30 per family for 3 hours including hot chocolate, an autumnal soup and bread roll, cookies, and all activities.
There will be two sessions, please book either the morning or afternoon session for your family.
Morning session: 9:30am – 12:30pm
Afternoon session: 1:30pm – 4:30pm
What to expect
This event is suitable for the whole family and all generations.
Starting with a cosy welcome by the fire you’ll be led through activities and skills to suit the ages of the group. Similar to a family class at Kith there’ll be snacks for the children, hot chocolate, and we’ll provide seasonal soup and a bread roll for everyone to enjoy around the fire together.
You will have a chance to move around the homestead, exploring the land, woodland areas and our cosy yurt. We hope that this event will provide opportunities for you and your family to share and connect with the land, yourselves and each other.
Activities will be available throughout the time, but as ever, we’ll follow the lead of the children and what draws their interest.
When booking please let us know the age of each child attending, any allergies and dietary requirements.
What to bring
Warm clothes, layers and wet weather clothes. We recommend wellies at Kith at this time of year.
You may also want to bring warm dry clothes in the car to change into for the journey home.
Your own mugs, plates and cutlery for soup, rolls and hot chocolate.
