Our first Work Day of the season is a grand do-over of the beloved spiral. Our two dear friends Ruru and Mel spent tireless hours over the spring and summer keeping it going for us but underneath sadly it desperately needs a little love.

This month our work day is about stripping back the spiral and re-laying all the elements.
Saturday 28th October
9.30-3pm

WEATHER DEPENDENT - you’ll be informed the day before if the weather isn’t playing kind and we have to cancel. Please check your messages to keep in the loop.

The work as planned is;

• Stripping back the existing layers (weeding, raking, using a spade and other garden tools)

• Finding the edges of the spiral (weeding, cutting grass, laying logs)

• Laying new sand and stones (shovelling, using the wheelbarrow and spades)

• Finally re-spiralling the rocks in a clockwise direction (down on the ground)

You’ll be provided with;

All tools and equipment but please feel free to bring your own gloves
Lunch of home-made soup, rolls and cake

Last October our work day was spent giving our beloved Wander Yurt a new coat (you can see here)

A note about children
Children are welcome to attend this work day but won’t be able to be supervised by any of the Kith facilitators. There won’t be any other activities on offer beyond the spiral renovation. You are responsible for your own children whilst on site at Kith. If you’re unsure whether this is appropriate for your family, please get in touch lorna@kithhomestead.com

Coming/leaving
The work day will be running from 9.30-3pm. If you’re unable to join us for the whole day but could do part of the day please park strategically in the car park so you’re not blocked in or blocking someone else in.
